42F MK II

A PROPER YACHT WITH MORE THAN RESPECTABLE SPEED

181 units of the Frers designed Hallberg-Rassy 42F were built during eleven years from 1994-2001. Of those 181 yachts, 53 were 42F Mk I (construction numbers 1-52 + No 55) and 128 units were built as 42F Mk II.

The Hallberg-Rassy 42 F is a very popular and comfortable cruising yacht for which distance is no object. For a yachtsman not interested in the latest regatta gimmicks but in a proper yacht with more than respectable speed, this is the one! This Frers designed 42F is not to be confused with the Enderlein designed 42 (E). Info about the difference between the Hallberg-Rassy 42F Mk I and Mk II may be found here.

THE LATEST SKILLS FROM FRERS AND HALLBERG-RASSY

The Hallberg-Rassy 42F is a contemporary cruising yacht which embodies the builder's expertise with the 1991 design skills of Germán Frers. The end result being a superb cruising yacht with sparkling performance which is a pleasure to sail and will give pride of ownership indefinitely.

The hull was designed for its seaworthiness and to give good sailing, it was not built to a formula or to maximise racing rules. The deck is laid for correct functioning rather than appearance, the fact that it looks so good is a bonus. With regard to equipment you will see typical Hallberg-Rassy solutions plus some innovations which represent real improvements.

PRESS CLIPS

The Swedish Yachting Magazine På Kryss & Till Rors, says:
"Exquisite finish and every detail is well thought out. This boat elicits your confidence from the pervading grid structure at floor level, the lamination of hull and deck, rig, how the keel and rudder is secured to the least little detail on deck as well as inside. Behind each Hallberg-Rassy boat stands a craftsman, who personally tests every piece of equipment on extended trial-cruises, before taken in to production. Such attention to detail is unusual in boat building, but it shows. We keep looking but there is nothing to criticize......Our conclusion is, that designer Germán Frers' entry to Ellös has resulted in boats that combines the best from two different worlds. The irreplaceable feeling of fine craftsmanship, the unbeatable living standard aboard is still there, as well as the secure feeling of a full-keeled boat with excellent sea-going qualities, especially in rough weather. We have found a whole new idea of cruising yachts realized in this boat....The Hallberg-Rassy 42F makes you feel safe and secure. You may feel like sailing anywhere, anytime, in any weather."
