Pre-owned boat for sale

Hallberg-Rassy 43 Mk III

Model year: 2016

Number of construction: 198

Boat name: Penelope

We took over the boat from Hallberg-Rassy in Neustadt in June 2016.  As Mk III, Penelope is one of the last built examples of the successful Hallberg-Rassy 43.

Penelope is equipped with all you need for a circumnavigation. She is registered for ARC+ 2020. (Start is mid November).

In addition to the standard specification Penelope is equipped with extensive and useful special equipment, (see equipment list attached, e.g. electric furling mast, hardtop, generator, autopilot, radar, watermaker, freezer, Gori prop, bow thruster, electric winches, winter cover, semi fixed bimini, active radar reflector and much more)

There is also the option of taking over our special long-distance equipment or parts of it.  However, this is not mandatory. If you don't need it, we will dismantle it. A reasonable price for these parts would have to be paid upon acceptance. (e.g. solar panels, Watt & Sea, Hydrovane, which enables energy-independent control and is also a complete emergency rudder, blue water runner)

So far, the boat was on the dry every winter and extensive maintenance, control and service work was carried out on the hull, rig, machines and equipment.  So 2016/17 in the Ancora Marina in Neustadt, 2017/18 at Martinssons on Orust, each in the heated winter hall, 2018/19 in Lagos and 2019/20 in Lagos, each with Sopromar.

The cockpit is protected by a hard top and additional sun protection is provided by a semi-fixed bimini. With the help of electrical support for winches, furling mast and windlass, the boat is easy to operate.

Penelope offers a very pleasant atmosphere inside.

Penelope is currently in the Sopromar shipyard in Lagos in southwest Portugal. Sopromar is an excellent shipyard with all possibilities and with trained specialists.

In the Algarve with the mild Atlantic climate of a moderate latitude, there is an almost continuous season, which means that a new owner could sail there at least throughout October and November, but also over the winter.

Lagos is an excellent starting point for trips to the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, along the Portuguese coast or across the Atlantic.

Lagos is also well suited for viewing, as up to two flights to Faro are offered daily at favorable conditions.

Plans for 2020

We will still be sailing to the Mediterranean with Penelope this summer and will bring the boat back to Lagos in September, so that it could be made available to a new owner there from the end of September. If necessary, an earlier handover could be agreed.

A visit with us is possible around the end of April / beginning of May.  Then we will probably be back in Lagos. If an earlier visit is desired we could possibly hire a trusted person in Lagos to show the boat. During our tour in the Mediterranean we are also able to show the boat in easily accessible places.
