Newly installed department for moulded linings, frames and doors
22 Aug 2024
Hallberg-Rassy has just installed a whole machinery park in a work shop at the boatyard in Ellös. Here we produce moulded linings, door frames and more.
We put one vaneer for every 1.5 mm with glue in between, pressing everything together in a mould under heat. A roller coating machine puts on the glue. Heated curing time is just 20 minutes, in contrast to the manual cold gluing of old days that took more time to put together and 12 hours to cure.
There is a specially designed sawing machine for joining the door frame parts.
There is a press where we manufacture the big doors for the yacht interiors. The doors have moist resistant honeycomb core. This makes the doors stiff yet light.
These works have previously been made by a sub supplier and Hallberg-Rassy has now bought machinery, tools and templates to produce this in-house at the boatyard in Ellös, as control and follow up has high priority at Hallberg-Rassy. Only in that way, combined with a skilled and loyal work force, it is possible to deliver each and every yacht on time.
