Ingela started working at Hallberg-Rassy on 5 February 1979. The range of yachts built was the Hallberg-Rassy 41, 38, Rasmus 35, Monsun 31, and the 26. The 352 was about to be created. The salary then was 15 SEK (about 1.30 Euros) per hour.

Throughout the years she has worked as cleaner, varnisher, at the machine carpentry and at the warehouse.

She tells she has always had a good time at the boatyard. Once when going to clean a boat in the marina, she stumbled at the guard wire and poured a full bucket of water over herself.
