Hallberg-Rassy is the most prolific brand in the latest round the world rally World ARC that just finishes. The fleet consists of 29 boats, of which there are five Hallberg-Rassys.

We got an email from one of the participating Hallberg-Rassy crews:

”I wanted to let you know that as part of the World ARC, which you are no doubt familiar with, my 2001 Hallberg-Rassy 39 Mk II ‘Walrus’ build number 179, has just completed a circumnavigation of the globe.

The yacht has been absolutely superb. Whilst fortunately we did not encounter any named storms, we did endure at least three periods of very heavy weather.  Walrus behaved wonderfully and gave the crew and me a great sense of security.

There are five Hallberg-Rassys in the ARC fleet, more than any other make. As well as ourselves there is a Swiss owned 43 ‘Serendipity’, a Canadian owned 46 ‘Mahina Tiare III’, a German owned 54 ‘Bluewater Mooney’ and an American owned 57 ‘Saltair’.

If there are any of the team who originally built Walrus still working at Hallberg-Rassy I would be very grateful if you would pass on my thanks to them. I would also like to specially thank Anna Friberg in your Hallberg-Rassy Parts department whose support in getting parts to us at various ports round the world has been first rate.”
